English-French director Tom Emmerson is one of the most exciting new voices in contemporary filmmaking, celebrated for his bold visual aesthetic and surreal humour. Hailing from North London, he began as a teenage photographer, shooting campaigns for Burberry, Helmut Lang and Champion before the age of 18, and soon after shifted his focus to directing.

His breakthrough came with a series of music videos for AntsLive, including the viral “Number One Candidate” (shot in the Italian Dolomites) and “Captain Ants”. Together they amassed over 5 million views, earned him back-to-back UKMVA wins for Best Hip Hop Video (2023 & 2024), and secured nominations for Best New Director and Best Director.

In the commercial world, Emmerson’s playful, genre-bending approach has powered campaigns for Adidas Originals, Hermès, New Balance, House of Errors, and Depop. Highlights include the launch of the Adidas Predator boot with icons Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham and Jude Bellingham, and the New Balance T500 campaign starring Endrick, Gabriely and Jack Harlow.

His work stands out for its ability to inject humour, invention and cinematic scope into every frame — a signature that makes him both a boundary-pusher and a natural storyteller. Now part of the Colors roster in France, Emmerson continues to expand his practice across music videos, commercials and beyond.
